Da Bears & Gymboree

Tonight is Bears vs Packers! Brad says the next two games are must win if the Bears want to go to the playoffs (and the Vikings need to lose). So we'll be putting on our Bears jerseys as a family to cheer the Bears on. Hopefully we'll be able to get a picture of all three of us. We may have to go over to our Packer fan neighbors and watch a quarter in their heated garage. Vin was kind enough to run over and take a Christmas photo for us before we headed out to the ward Christmas party and dinner. We were excited to use it for our Christmas cards this year. We got them in the mail a little later than we would have liked but still better than not sending them at all like we did last year.

Papa Bear & Baby Bear

I had to skip taking Alan to his Gymboree class today thanks to the -4 temp outside. We'll do a make-up class on Saturday that way daddy can come too. He's usually not very cooperative on Gymboree Mondays. Getting ready he tends to soak himself top to bottom by spitting up and peeing during a diaper change (both at the same time of course). We never get out of the house wearing the first outfit we put on that day. He has gotten a reputation for being the fussy baby at class. He really puts on a good show during tummy time. I think Brad thought I was exaggerating till he came to class one day and the other mom's were saying "Alan - you're so happy today!" then ten minutes later "Oh, there's the Alan I know." In his defense, our little guy has a 40 minute car ride and has to be woken up for play time. Even though it's torture getting there we still enjoy learning new songs like "Toe Knee Chest Nut" and playing with the tiny bubbles. He'll be excited to have his very own thanks to Santa. I'm sure the bubbles will be a much bigger hit than the sweaters. Gymboree had a great deal so Santa stocked up. We're looking forward to his first Christmas. He'll be four months old on Christmas Eve.
One of these kids is doing his own thing. He's supposed to be on his tummy looking at himself in the mirror and playing with toys like all the other 0-6 month old babies are doing.

The Utah Van Camp's

This post is dedicated to Brian, Ashley, and Kylie :) I only posted "a-pproooved" pictures ;) Thanks for coming all the way from Utah to visit. We're so glad you could be there for Alan's baby blessing. It wouldn't have been the same without you. You got two baby blessings for the price of one and got to meet 4 new nieces and nephews: Allison, Derek, Alan, and Cienna! Talk about bang for your buck. We're so glad the weather cooperated and we took advantage by having a fun day at the park. Thanks for all your help with the blog, blessing, watching Alan so we could vote, shower, etc. We loved having you stay with us and miss you guys already. We love you and look forward to visiting you soon in Utah.

Here's Kylie enjoying the slide at the park. Looking forward to these moments with our little guy!

Here's her daddy Brian enjoying the slide too. Brad's looking forward to reliving his childhood as well!

Super cute daddy/daughter moment. Family makes it all worth it!

Alan's Baby Blessing

We were so fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends on the occasion of Alan's baby blessing. Literally surrounded in the comforts of our cozy little home! We prepared just enough Stouffer's lasagna to feed 24 but that night we had our very own Miracle in Cana and managed to have plenty for 40 people (17 of which were children under the age of 8). I didn't get the courage to invite members of the church till the day of and they were all kind enough to come. We had a wonderful time and our hearts were touched by the strong spirit felt during the blessing. I have great pictures to share from that night but forgot to get more of Alan in his blessing outfit. We'll be going in to a portrait studio this month to get a few of him in his outfit and will be sure to share those as well.
